BIO
I was born and raised in the Peace River country in northern British Columbia on an isolated homestead. My love affair with animals began with my first kitten and with books as soon as I could read. At age ten or so, I wrote my first story with purple ink in a school scribbler.
In order to eat while making the writing dream a reality and having a yen for a balanced life, I became an accountant. I've also worked in repertory theaters in San Francisco and New York, sold real estate, and put in a brief stint as a stewardess on a small freighter sailing out of Jamaica. I discovered seasickness was a fate far worse than doing tax returns and so I returned to balancing books as well as learning how to write them.
I have a B.A. in Classical Studies and have traveled in Greece, England and many parts of North America. I write full time now and my favorite ways of unwinding are reading, walking along the seashore in Victoria, playing duplicate bridge, petting cats and thinking about food. The purple ink has been traded for a Pentium.
